Book Marco Tempest
Marco Tempest is a Swiss magician and creative technologist based in Zurich, born in 1964, who pioneered a style of illusion built on interactive multimedia, video and computer graphics. He first won international attention as the star of the eight-part television series The Virtual Magician, which was broadcast in some 49 markets around the world. Over time his work has grown from stage magic into the communication of emerging technology, using storytelling and spectacle to make complex ideas feel tangible. Since 2018 he has worked as a creative technologist and consultant at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, crafting demonstrations that bring space technologies to life, and in 2024 he took the helm of creative technology and innovation for ETH Zurich's space division. His résumé also includes roles as a senior innovation consultant at Woven by Toyota and as an Accenture Luminary and extended-reality lead. He is an alumnus Director's Fellow of the MIT Media Lab, where he co-taught a course on technology innovation. For audiences, Tempest offers a rare blend of magic, technology and future-facing storytelling delivered with a performer's sense of wonder.
