Book Lou Doillon

Lou Doillon is a French-British singer, songwriter and actress whose folk and indie rock songs have made her a major voice in contemporary French music. Born into an artistic family as the daughter of director Jacques Doillon and singer-actress Jane Birkin, she first appeared on screen at five in Agnès Varda's Kung Fu Master and went on to films including Bad Company (1999), Bazar (2009) and Gigola (2010), working with directors such as Guillaume Canet, Abel Ferrara and Maïwenn. Her debut album, Places (2012), won wide acclaim and strong sales, and in 2013 she was named Female Artist of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique, France's top music honors. She followed with Lay Low (2015) and Soliloquy (2019). A fashion figure since sixteen, she served as an ambassador for Givenchy, fronted campaigns for Chloé, Miu Miu and Gap, and appeared in the Pirelli Calendar beside Sophia Loren and Penélope Cruz. She has also toured a solo theater piece built on letters by Proust and Piaf. A Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Doillon brings smoky vocals and effortless Parisian style to the stage.
