Book Living Colour
Living Colour is a New York City rock band formed in 1984 around guitarist Vernon Reid, joined by singer Corey Glover, drummer Will Calhoun and, since the early 1990s, bass player Doug Wimbish. The group fused hard rock with funk, jazz, hip-hop and punk, and it broke through with the 1988 album Vivid and the single "Cult of Personality," which won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. The follow-up Time's Up earned the same Grammy the next year, and Grammy.com lists two wins and four nominations. Further albums include Stain in 1993, Collideøscope in 2003, The Chair in the Doorway in 2009 and Shade in 2017. Reid also helped found the Black Rock Coalition. Living Colour remains an electrifying live band, known for virtuoso musicianship and a Black rock legacy celebrated at festivals and theaters.
