Book Khatia Buniatishvili

Khatia Buniatishvili is a Georgian-French concert pianist celebrated for intensely expressive, virtuosic playing. She became an exclusive Sony Classical artist in 2010, and her debut album for the label in 2011 was devoted to Liszt, with his great B minor sonata, a famous Liebestraum and the first Mephisto Waltz. That same year she played the Liszt sonata at the Verbier Festival, where she is a regular presence. Her second album, Chopin (2012), paired solo works with the Piano Concerto No. 2 alongside the Orchestre de Paris under Paavo Järvi. She followed with the solo recitals Motherland (2014) and Kaleidoscope (2016), a Liszt and Beethoven album with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta (2016), and Rachmaninoff concertos with the Czech Philharmonic under Järvi (2017). Later releases include Schubert (2019), Labyrinth (2020), Labyrinth: Ephemera (2024) and Mozart's Piano Concertos nos. 20 & 23 with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields (2024). In December 2024 she performed when Notre-Dame de Paris reopened to the public. She has been honored with Georgia's Order of Queen Tamara, and her recitals bring dramatic flair and deep feeling to the great piano repertoire.
