Book Kelis
Kelis is an American singer, born Kelis Rogers on August 21, 1979, whose bold voice and genre-hopping style made her one of pop and R&B's true originals. A saxophone-playing LaGuardia High School alumna who sang with the Girls Choir of Harlem, she began as a backing vocalist for Gravediggaz before teaming with the Neptunes production duo of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo. Her first Billboard Hot 100 appearance came on Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Got Your Money," and her 1999 debut album, Kaleidoscope, featuring "Caught Out There," won strong critical acclaim. Wanderland followed in 2001, and Tasty (2003) delivered her commercial breakthrough with the instantly iconic "Milkshake," a No. 3 Billboard Hot 100 hit. Kelis Was Here (2006), powered by the top-20 single "Bossy" with Too Short, reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. She later trained at Le Cordon Bleu and released Flesh Tone (2010) and Food (2014). Kelis has two Grammy nominations, and in 2020 she celebrated her debut with the Kaleidoscope 20th Anniversary Tour. Her live show mixes funky grooves, attitude and a catalog of unforgettable hits.
