Book Kat Edmonson
Kat Edmonson is an American singer and songwriter whose "vintage pop" sound blends jazz, folk, pop and classic songcraft with a distinctive, airy voice. Her self-released debut, Take to the Sky (2009), reached the Top 20 of the Billboard jazz chart, and her Kickstarter-funded follow-up, Way Down Low (2012), topped the Billboard Heatseekers chart and drew praise from The New York Times and NPR. The Big Picture (2014), released by Sony Masterworks, also hit number one on Heatseekers, and she continued with Old Fashioned Gal (2018) and Dreamers Do (2020). Lyle Lovett invited her to open his 2010 summer tour, and the two sang "Baby, It's Cold Outside" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, a duet later included on his album Release Me; he also joined her on "Long Way Home." Edmonson has appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk, Austin City Limits and A Prairie Home Companion, headlined the Taichung Jazz Festival, and performed at Tanglewood and the Montreux Jazz Festival. She has toured Europe with Jamie Cullum and shared bills with Chris Isaak and Michael Kiwanuka, charming audiences with elegant, whimsical performances.
