Book John Hiatt
John Hiatt is an American singer-songwriter whose sharp, soulful songs have moved easily between rock, country, blues and new wave. He moved to Nashville at 18 to write for the Tree publishing company, played in the band White Duck on its album In Season, and saw his song "Sure As I'm Sittin' Here" become a top-40 hit for Three Dog Night, which led to a deal with Epic Records. His solo albums began with Hangin' Around the Observatory (1974) and Overcoats (1975), followed by Slug Line (1979) and Two Bit Monsters (1980) on MCA. The acclaimed Bring the Family (1987) launched his most celebrated period, followed by Slow Turning (1988), Stolen Moments (1990), Perfectly Good Guitar (1993) and Walk On (1995). Later highlights include the acoustic Crossing Muddy Waters (2000), The Tiki Bar Is Open (2001), Master of Disaster (2005), Terms of My Surrender (2014), The Eclipse Sessions (2018) and Leftover Feelings (2021), recorded with Jerry Douglas. Across 23 studio albums he has earned 10 Grammy nominations, and in 2008 he received the Americana Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting. In concert he delivers wry, heartfelt songs with a gritty voice and a storyteller's wit.
