Book John Digweed
John Digweed is a British DJ and record producer who started DJing at fifteen and made his name in Hastings, his hometown, with club nights and raves held on Hastings Pier. His breakthrough came in 1993, when a mixtape demo sent to Geoff Oakes of the Renaissance nightclub in Mansfield reached Sasha. The two struck up a lasting partnership and, as Sasha & John Digweed, helped popularize progressive house; their 1994 release Renaissance: The Mix Collection was the first commercial compilation built around a nightclub, and they followed it with the Northern Exposure and Global Underground series. Digweed then founded Bedrock Records, and with Nick Muir he produced as Bedrock; the duo's first track, "For What You Dream Of," was used in the film Trainspotting, and they scored Spider-Man: The New Animated Series in 2003. From 2000 to 2005 he ran monthly Bedrock nights, including Thursdays at Heaven in London. DJ Mag voted him the number one DJ in the world in 2001. Digweed is known for long, patient, deeply layered sets that build slowly.
