Book Joe Gilgun

Joe Gilgun is an English actor and producer whose roles range from gritty British drama to cult American genre television. He co-created and stars as Vinnie O'Neill in the Sky Max comedy-drama Brassic, and from 2016 to 2019 he played the Irish vampire Cassidy in AMC's Preacher, adapted from the Vertigo comic. He started young, playing the tearaway Jamie Armstrong on Coronation Street from 1994 to 1997, and at 14 presented a feature for the travel show Wish You Were Here...?. As a teenager he acted part-time on stage, including Hanky Park the Musical at The Lowry in Salford and a touring production of Borstal Boy that ended at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His return to full-time acting came in 2006, when he landed both Eli Dingle on Emmerdale and the kind-hearted skinhead Woody in Shane Meadows' This Is England, his film debut, a role he carried into the spin-off series. He went on to play Rudy Wade on E4's Misfits and Marcus on Hollyoaks, and appeared in the film Pride (2014). Gilgun brings raw energy, humor and an unmistakable northern voice to every project.
