Book Allen Leech
Allen Leech is an Irish actor best known to television audiences worldwide as Tom Branson, the chauffeur turned family member on the ITV period drama Downton Abbey, a role he played from 2010 to 2015 and carried into the feature film Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022). On the big screen he played Paul Prenter in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), and appeared in the codebreaking drama The Imitation Game (2014). Leech started on stage as a teenager, making his professional debut at Dublin's Gate Theatre in a 1998 staging of A Streetcar Named Desire opposite Frances McDormand, and later worked at the Abbey Theatre. His first major film part came as Vincent Cusack in Cowboys & Angels (2003), and his turn as Mo Chara in Man About Dog (2004) earned an Irish Film & Television Award nomination, as did his work in the RTÉ series Love Is the Drug. He also portrayed Marcus Agrippa in the HBO epic Rome and appeared in The Tudors. With a career spanning stage, prestige television and major films, Leech brings Irish charm and plenty of stories from behind the scenes at Downton.
