Book Robert Gant

Robert Gant is an American actor and producer best known as Professor Ben Bruckner on Showtime's Queer as Folk from 2002 to 2005, a character whose wedding was the first legal gay marriage shown on American television. Earlier he recurred on Popular and Caroline in the City and guest starred on Friends. In 2004 he starred in the short Billy's Dad is a Fudgepacker, a tongue-in-cheek nod to 1950s classroom films that premiered at Sundance, and in 2005 he was the lone American in the cast of the BBC Three drama Personal Affairs, shot in London and Scotland. As a producing partner in Mythgarden, he starred with Judith Light and Chad Allen in the 2007 Sundance drama Save Me. He also co-wrote, co-produced and starred in Milada (2017), the true story of Czech politician Milada Horáková, and played television's first gay spy in Kiss Me Deadly. More recently he has appeared as Zor-El, the Kryptonian father of Melissa Benoist's heroine on Supergirl, as Todd Crimsen on 13 Reasons Why and as Jim Hunter on The Fosters and Good Trouble. Gant brings warmth and a trailblazer's perspective.
