Book Jack Ü
Jack Ü is the electronic dance music collaboration between two of the genre's biggest producers, Skrillex and Diplo, formed in 2013. The pair had crossed paths on several projects for years, including Skrillex contributing vocals and guitar to a Major Lazer record, before joining forces under one name. Jack Ü made its live debut on September 15, 2013, at the Mad Decent Block Party in San Diego, playing early versions of tracks that would later become fan favorites, and Diplo soon revealed that the mysterious name simply meant the two producers working together. Their first official single, "Take Ü There" featuring Kiesza, arrived on October 4, 2014, and the album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü followed on February 27, 2015. The duo played a hour-long set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami in 2014 and returned in 2015 with a full crew of guests including CL, Kiesza, Diddy and Justin Bieber. Skrillex has explained that the name comes from music meant to jack you up, and the smiley-style Ü appears in every single title. Jack Ü stands for festival-sized bass, high energy and star collaborations.
