Book Hyukoh
Hyukoh is a South Korean indie rock band whose effortless, genre-blending sound has made them a leading name in Asian alternative music. The group formed in May 2014 around leader, singer and guitarist Oh Hyuk, with Lee In-woo on drums, Lim Hyun-jae on guitar and Im Dong-geon on bass, and producer and electronics musician JNKYRD has performed as a core part of the group since 2020. Oh grew up in several cities in northern China before moving to South Korea alone after high school to chase music, and his songs mix Korean, Mandarin and English lyrics, giving the band a distinctly international voice. Hyukoh began as Oh's one-man project before the four members came together, and their debut EP 20, released in September 2014 and named for their ages at the time, built a devoted following in Seoul's Hongdae indie scene, where they regularly packed small venues. They went on to release the full-length albums 23 in 2017 and AAA in 2024. Hyukoh brings a cool, atmospheric live show that moves from laid-back grooves to soaring guitar crescendos.
