Book Greg Maddux

Greg Maddux, nicknamed "Mad Dog" and "the Professor," is a Hall of Fame pitcher whose precision and baseball intelligence set a standard for the craft. Across 23 Major League seasons, mostly with the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves, with stints for the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, he won 355 games, eighth on the all-time list. Maddux became the first pitcher ever to take home the Cy Young Award in four straight years, from 1992 to 1995, going 75 and 29 with a 1.98 ERA over that span. An eight-time All-Star, he helped the Braves beat Cleveland in the 1995 World Series. He is the only pitcher to win at least 15 games in 17 consecutive seasons, won 18 Gold Gloves, the most by any player, and belongs to the small club of pitchers with 300 wins and 3,000 strikeouts, doing it with just 999 walks. He later advised the front offices of the Cubs and Texas Rangers, and he reached Cooperstown in 2014 on his first try. Maddux shares a master class in preparation, control and thinking one pitch ahead.
