Book George Benson
George Benson is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter who moved effortlessly between jazz, soul, pop and R&B to become one of music's most beloved crossover stars. A child prodigy from Pittsburgh's Hill District, he first drew attention in the 1960s playing soul jazz alongside organist Jack McDuff, then launched his own career with The New Boss Guitar of George Benson (1964) and The George Benson Cookbook (1966). His 1976 album Breezin' reached number one on the Billboard album chart and made his smooth guitar lines and warm vocals a fixture on radio. He kept the momentum going with In Flight (1977), Give Me the Night (1980), In Your Eyes (1983) and 20/20 (1985), along with collaborations such as Collaboration (1987) and later releases including Irreplaceable (2003), Givin' It Up (2006) and Songs and Stories (2009). Benson has won ten Grammy Awards, is a NEA Jazz Master, holds a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and entered the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2021. In concert he pairs dazzling, scat-laced guitar work with timeless hits for a polished, feel-good show.
