Book Bobby McFerrin

Bobby McFerrin is an American vocalist, improviser, songwriter and conductor whose one-man voice can sound like an entire band. He sings with startling leaps in pitch, scat, overtone singing and improvised vocal percussion, often performing completely unaccompanied. His joyful a cappella single "Don't Worry, Be Happy" hit number one in the United States, the only a cappella recording to do so, and won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. All told he has won ten Grammy Awards from 18 nominations, including several for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male, among them wins for "Brothers" and "'Round Midnight." His catalog spans fourteen studio albums, from Bobby McFerrin (1982) and Tangents (1984) to Medicine Music (1990), Hush (1991), Paper Music (1995), The Mozart Sessions (1996), Circlesongs (1997), Beyond Words (2002), VOCAbuLarieS (2010) and Spirityouall (2013). He has collaborated with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Tony Williams, Richard Bona and Yo-Yo Ma, and he is a NEA Jazz Master. A Bobby McFerrin performance is interactive and spontaneous, turning the audience itself into his choir and leaving every crowd singing along.
