Book Coin
Coin was a pop rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, started in 2012 by Chase Lawrence, Joe Memmel, Zach Dyke and Ryan Winnen, three of whom were students at Belmont University. The group cut its first four songs at school, gave them away online and soon built a fiercely loyal live following in Nashville clubs. Early EPs Saturdays (2012) and 1992 (2013) produced the single "Atlas" (2013), and the band also issued the stand-alone track "Time Machine" (2013). Coin broke through in 2015 with "Run," the lead single from its self-titled debut album Coin (2015), produced by Jay Joyce for Columbia. "Talk Too Much" (2016) became the band's first entry on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart and led into How Will You Know If You Never Try (2017). Later releases included Dreamland (2020), Rainbow Mixtape (2021), Sleep Gild (2021), Uncanny Valley (2022) and I'm Not Afraid of Music Anymore (2024). The band disbanded at the end of January 2025, leaving behind a catalog of bright, hook-driven indie pop built for big singalongs.
