Book Chris Evert
Chris Evert is an American tennis legend and a defining champion of the Open Era. She held the WTA world No. 1 ranking for 260 weeks and finished seven seasons as the year-end No. 1, in 1974 through 1978, 1980 and 1981. Her 157 singles titles include 18 majors, with a record seven French Open crowns and six US Open titles. Famous for her rivalry with Martina Navratilova, Evert reached the semifinals or better at 52 of the 56 majors she entered and won at least one major in 13 consecutive years, a record. Her career singles win rate of 89.97 percent ranks second in the Open Era, and her mark on clay, above 94 percent, still stands as a WTA record. She was named Associated Press Athlete of the Year four times, served as WTA president for eleven years, and is enshrined in the International Tennis Hall of Fame. She also received the Philippe Chatrier Award (1997). Today Evert is an ESPN analyst and the founder of the Evert Tennis Academy, bringing championship poise and decades of insight to every audience.
