Charlie Sloth is an English DJ, producer, hype man and television host, born Charlie Rouillon on 20 August 1981, and a leading champion of grime and hip-hop on British radio. He first drew notice in 2007 when his video "Guided Tour of Camden" won Most Original Video at Canada's CraveFest Awards, and his web series Being Charlie Sloth ran for 59 episodes and was picked up by WorldStarHipHop. He also won a CraveFest prize for best unsigned rap and R&B artist in 2008. On BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra he hosted The Rap Show on Saturday nights, presented the 1Xtra drivetime show from 2012 to 2017, and launched the late-night show The 8th. His signature freestyle segment, Fire in the Booth, became a rite of passage for MCs, with appearances from Akala, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah, Bugzy Malone, Big Narstie, Professor Green, Migos, Big Shaq and Drake, whose session Sloth counts among his favorite moments. He founded the label Grimey Limey and released The Black Book (2010) and The Plug (2017). Sloth brings high-octane hosting, deep scene knowledge and nonstop energy to any stage or decks.
