Book Hoodie Allen
Hoodie Allen is an independent rapper from Long Island whose debut studio album, People Keep Talking (2014), reached number eight on the Billboard 200 and produced "All About It," featuring Ed Sheeran, his entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Born Steven Markowitz, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and took a job at Google before leaving to make music full time. His early releases, the Bagels & Beats EP and the Making Waves mixtape, earned a mtvU Best Music on Campus nomination in 2009, and the single "UPENN Girls" drew wide attention online. Mixtapes Pep Rally and Leap Year built his audience, and the 2012 EP All American, released without a label, reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. He headlined his Cruisin' USA Tour in 2013. Later albums include Happy Camper (2016), which entered the Billboard 200 top 30, The Hype (2017), Whatever USA (2019) and Bub (2023). The stage name joins his childhood nickname, Hoodie, with filmmaker Woody Allen, and he has stayed fully independent throughout his career.
