Book Rich Brian
Rich Brian is the stage name of Brian Imanuel Soewarno, an Indonesian rapper and singer born in 1999 who first went by Rich Chigga. He posted his first track, "Living the Dream," on YouTube in 2015, then broke out internationally with the 2016 single "Dat Stick," first shared on SoundCloud and boosted by a 88rising reaction video with American rappers. Signed to 88rising, he toured the United States for the first time in 2017, released "Gospel" with XXXTentacion and Keith Ape, and was named breakthrough artist at the Indonesian Choice Awards. In early 2018 he dropped the old name over its racial undertones and released his debut album, Amen, which reached number 18 on the Billboard 200 and also put him at number one on iTunes' hip-hop chart, a first for an Asian artist. The Sailor followed in 2019, then the EPs 1999 and Brightside. He has worked with Joji, Jackson Wang and Chungha, and in 2025 issued Where Is My Head?, featuring Toro y Moi and Maxo Kream. He was named among Asia's Most Influential Indonesia in 2021.
