Book Bobby Vinton

Bobby Vinton is the American singer and actor whose smooth ballads made him a star of the early 1960s and earned him the nickname "The Polish Prince." Born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, he was inspired to record by the Elvis Presley film Jailhouse Rock and started his own label, Bobby Records, in 1958. After signing with Epic Records, he reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Roses Are Red (My Love)" (1962), followed by "Blue Velvet" (1963), "There! I've Said It Again" (1963) and "Mr. Lonely" (1964), the last of which he co-wrote. "Blue on Blue" (1963) was another major hit. In the 1970s he celebrated his Polish heritage with "My Melody of Love" (1974), which mixed English and Polish lyrics and became a top three hit. He hosted his own variety series, The Bobby Vinton Show, in the late 1970s and also acted in films. Across his career he recorded 32 studio albums. Vinton received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He is now retired, leaving a beloved catalog of romantic pop classics.
