Book Bianca Jagger

Bianca Jagger is a Nicaraguan-born human rights advocate, environmental campaigner and former actress whose public life spans fashion, film and decades of activism. A style icon of the 1970s, she entered the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame in 1976. Her screen work includes Flesh Color (1978) opposite Dennis Hopper, the Rutles satire All You Need Is Cash (1978), The American Success Company (1980) and The Cannonball Run (1981), plus guest roles on Miami Vice. A 1979 trip to Nicaragua with an International Red Cross delegation set her on the path of advocacy, and she has since campaigned against the death penalty and for the rights of women and Indigenous peoples in Latin America. She founded and chairs the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation, was named a Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador in 2003, chaired the World Future Council from 2007 to 2009 and has served as a global ambassador for the Bonn Challenge forest restoration effort. She received the Right Livelihood Award in 2004 and presented at Live Earth in Hamburg in 2007. As a speaker she brings firsthand stories from the front lines of human rights and climate work.
