Book America
America began in 1970 when Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley formed a vocal trio. The three met in London as teenagers whose fathers were serving there with the US Air Force, and they started playing live there. During the 1970s they became famous for tight vocal harmonies and a light acoustic folk-rock sound, with hits such as "A Horse with No Name," "Ventura Highway" and "Sister Golden Hair" that still fill soft rock radio. The group's catalog has eighteen studio albums, starting with the self-titled America in 1971 and continuing through Homecoming, Hat Trick, Holiday, Hearts, Hideaway and Harbor. They won the Grammy Award for best new artist in 1973, Hollywood's Walk of Fame added their star in 2012, and a German honor, the RSH-Gold for cult band, came in 1995. Their concerts are warm, nostalgic celebrations of classic harmony pop.
