Book Canned Heat
Canned Heat is an American blues rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by blues collectors Alan Wilson and Bob Hite, who borrowed the name from Tommy Johnson's 1928 "Canned Heat Blues." The group became one of the defining acts of the hippie era, championing classic blues and its original artists while stretching out with extended psychedelic jams. After memorable sets at both the Monterey and Woodstock festivals, the band won worldwide fame, and three of its songs, "On the Road Again," "Going Up the Country" and "Let's Work Together," became international hits. The catalog runs from the debut Canned Heat (1967) through Boogie With Canned Heat (1968), Living the Blues (1968), Hallelujah (1969), Future Blues (1970) and Hooker ’n Heat (1971), recorded with John Lee Hooker, on to Human Condition (1978), Kings of the Boogie (1981), Internal Combustion (1994), Boogie 2000 (1999), a Christmas Album (2007) and Finyl Vinyl (2024). Drummer Adolfo de la Parra carries the 1960s lineup forward. In 2009 the band joined the Heroes of Woodstock Tour. Canned Heat brings authentic boogie-blues and festival history to the stage.
