Book 112
112, pronounced "one-twelve," is a R&B vocal group from Atlanta, Georgia, whose members came together as schoolmates. Producers Tim & Bob discovered them, and they signed with Sean Combs's Bad Boy Records, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1996. In 1997 they joined Faith Evans on Combs's "I'll Be Missing You," which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the first hip-hop song to do so, and earned a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Room 112 followed in 1998, and Part III in 2001 reached number two on the Billboard 200. After Hot & Wet in 2003 the group moved from Bad Boy to Def Soul for Pleasure & Pain in 2005. Their Hot 100 top-20 singles include "Only You" with the Notorious B.I.G., "Cupid," "Anywhere" with Lil' Zane, "Love Me" with Mase, "It's Over Now" and the Grammy-nominated "Peaches & Cream." More recent albums are Q Mike Slim Daron in 2017 and Forever in 2020. Their layered harmonies and smooth stage choreography carry slow jams and uptempo hits alike.
