Book Whitesnake

Whitesnake are the British hard rock band formed in London in 1978 by singer David Coverdale after his time in Deep Purple. Beginning as Coverdale's backing group, the band quickly took on its own identity, with Coverdale as the only constant member through many lineups. Early albums Trouble (1978) and Lovehunter (1979) introduced live staples such as "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City," and the band built a strong following in Europe and Japan with Ready an' Willing (1980), Come an' Get It (1981) and Saints & Sinners (1982). In the mid-1980s Coverdale turned toward America, and the self-titled album Whitesnake (1987) made them arena headliners, powered by the number one single "Here I Go Again" (1987), "Is This Love" (1987) and "Still of the Night" (1987). Slip of the Tongue (1989) followed, and later records include Good to Be Bad (2008), Forevermore (2011), The Purple Album (2015) and Flesh & Blood (2019). Coverdale announced his retirement in November 2025, bringing the band to a close after a career built on bluesy swagger and big rock anthems.
