Book Tribal Seeds
Tribal Seeds is an American reggae band from San Diego, known for spiritually minded songs that fuse classic roots reggae with a rock edge. Brothers Steven Rene Jacobo, on lyrics, vocals and guitar, and Tony-Ray Jacobo, on keyboards and production, first sketched the idea in 2003 and formally launched the group in 2005. That year they released their debut album, Youth Rebellion, the first of many on the band's own independent label, and early lineups included guitarist and percussionist brothers Victor and Antonio Navarro, drummer Carlos Verdugo, keyboard player John Wegener and guitarist Mark Muñoz. Their self-titled second album arrived in 2008 and was named a Best Of reggae pick on iTunes, and the band took Best World Music at the San Diego Music Awards that year. The Harvest (2009) debuted at number 5 on Billboard's Top Reggae Albums chart, and the 2011 Soundwaves EP climbed to number 2 there. Later releases include Representing (2014), Live: The 2020 Sessions (2020) and Ancient Blood (2024). Tribal Seeds' concerts deliver deep grooves, soaring harmonies and positive vibes that have built them a devoted following across the reggae scene.
