Book The B-52's
The B-52's is a new wave party band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 1976 by Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson and Keith Strickland. With beehive hairdos, thrift-store style, interlocking vocals and surf-guitar riffs, they created songs such as "Rock Lobster," "Planet Claire" and "Private Idaho." Their catalog runs from their 1979 debut through Wild Planet, Whammy!, Bouncing Off the Satellites, Cosmic Thing and Funplex in 2008, seven albums, and Cosmic Thing delivered "Love Shack" and "Roam." They joined the True Colors Tour in 2008, and they completed their Farewell Tour in January 2023 in Athens, then continued with selected residency dates. Ricky Wilson died in 1985, and the surviving members keep the band's playful, danceable spirit alive, and their live shows feature costumes, humor, and crowd participation.
