Book Stray Cats
Stray Cats are an American rockabilly trio formed in 1979 in Massapequa, a Long Island hamlet in New York, by guitarist and singer Brian Setzer, bassist Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom on drums. They scored hit singles in Australia, Canada and the United States, among them "Stray Cat Strut," "(She's) Sexy + 17," "Look at That Cadillac," "I Won't Stand in Your Way," "Bring It Back Again" and "Rock This Town," a track the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame lists among the songs that shaped rock and roll. Their self-titled Stray Cats arrived in 1981, Built for Speed in 1982 and Rant 'n' Rave With the Stray Cats in 1983, the year they were Grammy-nominated for Best New Artist. Later albums include Choo Choo Hot Fish (1992) and 40 (2019). With slicked-back pompadours and a classic 1950s attitude, they deliver a high-voltage rockabilly show.
