Book Shane Dawson

Shane Dawson is an American YouTuber, filmmaker, comedian and author who was among the first creators to build a mass audience on the platform. He started posting videos in 2008, at nineteen, and drew hundreds of millions of views within two years with character sketches, celebrity impressions and pop culture parody. He released original songs such as "Superluv!" along with music video parodies, and from 2013 he hosted the podcast Shane and Friends, which ran for 140 episodes. In 2014 he took the director's chair while also producing, editing and starring in the feature comedy Not Cool, documented on the companion series The Chair, and he also acted in Smiley (2012) and Internet Famous (2016). Dawson later pioneered long-form documentary storytelling on YouTube, including Conspiracy Series with Shane Dawson and The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star (2019 to 2020). He is the author of two New York Times bestsellers, I Hate Myselfie (2015) and It Gets Worse (2016), and has received Silver, Gold and Diamond Play Buttons. His main channel has passed 18 million subscribers. He speaks about creator culture, documentary filmmaking and the early days of online video.
