Book Rollins Band

Rollins Band were the Los Angeles rock band led by former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins, active from 1987 to 2006 and known for some of the most intense live shows in heavy music. Combining funk, post-punk, noise and jazz-influenced improvisation with Rollins's shouted, confessional lyrics, the band built a reputation for raw, physical performances. Their early albums Life Time (1987), Do It (1988) and Hard Volume (1989) established that sound, and The End of Silence (1992) broke them to a wider audience with "Low Self Opinion." The album Weight (1994) brought their biggest success, led by the single "Liar," whose striking video received heavy rotation on MTV and earned a Grammy nomination. Later records include Come In and Burn (1997), Get Some Go Again (2000) and Nice (2001). The band's lineup shifted over the years, but Rollins remained the driving force throughout. In 2000 VH1 ranked Rollins Band 47th on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Their catalog still stands as a cathartic, uncompromising chapter of 1990s alternative rock.
