Book Robin Givens

Robin Givens is an American actress, director and author whose career spans four decades of television and film. She broke through in 1986 as the wealthy, sharp-witted Darlene Merriman on ABC's Head of the Class and stayed through 1991. Her career began with a 1985 guest role on The Cosby Show, followed by Diff'rent Strokes and the TV movie Beverly Hills Madam. In 1989 she appeared with Oprah Winfrey in The Women of Brewster Place, and she went on to star in the feature films A Rage in Harlem (1991) and Boomerang (1992). She co-starred on the UPN sitcom Sparks for two seasons beginning in 1996, and in January 2000 she took over as host of the syndicated talk show Forgive or Forget. In 2007 she published her autobiography, Grace Will Lead Me Home. Givens has since had recurring roles on The Game, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, Chuck, Riverdale and its spin-off Katy Keene, and joined the main cast of Batwoman. In 2020 she stepped behind the camera as a television and film director. Givens speaks with candor and grace about resilience, reinvention and a life in entertainment.
