Book Orelsan
Orelsan is the French rapper, songwriter, producer, actor and director Aurélien Cotentin, born 1 August 1982 and one of the defining voices of modern French hip-hop. His five studio albums trace a remarkable rise: Perdu d’avance (2009), Le Chant des sirènes (2011), La fête est finie (2017), Civilisation (2021) and La fuite en avant (2025). La fête est finie sold upward of a million copies in France, while Civilisation finished as the country's top-selling album in both 2021 and 2022. He is also one half of the duo Casseurs Flowters with Gringe, releasing Orelsan et Gringe sont les Casseurs Flowters in 2013 and the soundtrack to their 2015 film Comment c'est loin. His trophy shelf includes a MTV Europe Music Award for Best French Act in 2009 and a long list of Victoires de la Musique, among them male artist of the year in 2018 and 2022, urban album honors in 2012 and 2018, and a music video prize. In 2022 France's Ministry of Culture named him a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. Orelsan's concerts combine sharp, witty storytelling with huge production and stadium-sized singalongs, making him a top draw for French-speaking audiences everywhere.
