Book Monica
Monica took home a Grammy for "The Boy Is Mine," her chart-topping duet with Brandy, and she has earned five Grammy nominations in all. Raised in College Park, Georgia, she sang in a traveling gospel choir by age ten and signed with producer Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records in 1993. Her debut album, Miss Thang (1995), made her a teenage R&B star, and her second, The Boy Is Mine (1998), produced three Billboard Hot 100 number ones: the title track, "The First Night" and "Angel of Mine." After moving to Clive Davis's J Records, she scored her first number one album on the Billboard 200 with After the Storm (2003), led by the top-ten hit "So Gone." The Makings of Me debuted at number eight and Still Standing at number two, earning two more Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Album. She followed with New Life (2012) and Code Red (2015), and her other honors include a BET Her Award. With three decades of hits behind her, Monica remains a signature voice of Atlanta R&B.
