Book Lion Babe
Lion Babe is a New York City R&B duo made up of singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman, known for lush, groove-heavy music that blends soul, dance, hip-hop and electronic sounds. The pair met through a mutual friend and reconnected when Hervey, then studying at The New School, asked Goodman for music for a dance assignment. Their December 2012 single "Treat Me Like Fire," built on a vintage soul sample, caught the ear of Childish Gambino, who invited them to open for him after SXSW and later guested on their single "Jump Hi." They signed with Interscope, released a self-titled EP in 2014, and saw "Treat Me Like Fire" featured on the in-game radio of Grand Theft Auto V. Their debut album, Begin (2016), drew production help from Pharrell Williams and Dave Sitek, and the duo also featured on Disclosure's "Hourglass" from Caracal (2015). Moving to their own label, they released Cosmic Wind (2019), Rainbow Child (2021) and House of LION BABE (2024). Hervey's soaring vocals and signature mane, paired with Goodman's warm, funky production, make their shows a stylish, feel-good party.
