Ladytron are the Liverpool electronic band of Helen Marnie, Mira Aroyo and Daniel Hunt, pioneers of the electroclash era known for "Seventeen," "Destroy Everything You Touch" and eight studio albums of dark, glamorous synth-pop. Formed in 1999 and named after a Roxy Music song, the group debuted with the single "He Took Her to a Movie" and released 604 on Emperor Norton in 2001, followed by Light & Magic (2002), which featured "Seventeen." After signing with Island Records in 2004, they released Witching Hour (2005), with "Destroy Everything You Touch," and Velocifero (2008), which included songs sung in Bulgarian by Aroyo. Gravity the Seducer (2011), a self-titled album (2019), Time's Arrow (2023) and Paradises (2026) followed, along with a live album and a career-spanning compilation. Reuben Wu played synthesizers with the band from 1999 to 2023. Ladytron have produced remixes for artists including Nine Inch Nails, Blondie, Placebo, Erasure, Goldfrapp, Bloc Party and Christina Aguilera, and Hunt contributed songwriting and production to Aguilera's 2010 album Bionic. Combining icy vocals, analog synthesizers and art-school style, Ladytron have influenced a generation of electronic pop acts and toured stages across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
