Book Fischerspooner
Fischerspooner were an electroclash duo and performance troupe founded in New York City in 1998 by Warren Fischer, a classically trained musician, and Casey Spooner, a video artist with an experimental theater background, who combined their surnames for the name. The project began as an impromptu performance of their homemade track Indian Cab Driver at the Astor Place Starbucks and grew into a spectacle of over 20 performers, mostly dancers and guest singers. Spooner has said the art project about showbiz eventually became genuine showbiz. Drawing on Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Gary Numan and New Order, their debut #1 was issued by Capitol Records, Ministry of Sound and International DJ Gigolo, carrying the singles Sweetness and Emerge plus a cover of Wire's the 15th. Odyssey (2005) moved toward structured electropop, led by the single Just Let Go, and was followed by Entertainment (2009) and Sir (2018). In 2004 they even opened their FS Studios in New York to the public weekly. Their shows fused music, choreography, costume and video into one theatrical package.
