Book Kurtwood Smith
Kurtwood Smith is an American character actor whose gruff authority has made him memorable as both a screen villain and one of television's most beloved sitcom dads. Film fans first met him as the ruthless crime boss Clarence Boddicker in RoboCop (1987), and he followed with sharp turns in Rambo III (1988), Dead Poets Society (1989), A Time to Kill (1996), Prefontaine (1997) and A Bright Shining Lie (1998). For an entire generation he is Red Forman, the no-nonsense father of That '70s Show, which ran from 1998 to 2006; he returned to the role in That '90s Show from 2023 to 2024. Smith also played a senator in the seventh season of 24, led the ABC drama Resurrection, had a recurring arc on Medium, voiced Gene on Regular Show, starred on Amazon's Patriot and played Old Man Peterson on Netflix's The Ranch, with a later part in The Dropout. Before his screen fame he built his craft on stage, winning three Drama-Logue Awards for productions including Billy Budd. He brings decades of crowd-pleasing work and plenty of deadpan humor to any audience.
