Book Kid 'n Play
Kid 'n Play are the New York hip-hop duo of Christopher "Kid" Reid and Christopher "Play" Martin, whose high-energy shows and good-natured style made them stars of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Working with DJ Wiz, they released three albums: 2 Hype (1988), Kid 'n Play's Funhouse (1990) and Face the Nation (1991). Their best-known singles include "Rollin' with Kid 'n Play" (1989), "Funhouse" (1990) and "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" (1991), the last two both reaching number one on Billboard's rap chart. The pair kept their lyrics positive and their beats pop-friendly, and their stage act made the Kick Step dance and Kid's towering hi-top fade instantly famous. They also moved into film, starring in the House Party comedies that began in 1990, which brought their personalities to a wide audience. They performed in the Boombox residency at Westgate Las Vegas (2022) and in "I Love the '90s – The Vegas Show" at Paris Las Vegas (2018). Decades on, they still deliver a fun, nostalgic party set built on dance moves, call-and-response and classic hip-hop hits.
