Book Howie D
Howie Dorough, the singer and actor fans call Howie D, is best known as a member of the pop vocal group Backstreet Boys. His love of performing started early: as a child he sang in church and acted in community theater, appearing in productions of The Wizard of Oz, Sound Of Music, Showboat and Camelot. He trained at a performing arts academy in voice, acting, classical ballet, tap and jazz dance, sang in his school choirs, qualified for the All-State Chorus and joined the drama club. Discovered by an acting agent at 14, he worked under the stage name Tony Donetti, landing roles in the films Parenthood and Cop and a Half, a lead in the Nickelodeon pilot Welcome Freshman and a Disney World commercial, and he also auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club. Those years of stage training fed directly into his career with Backstreet Boys. Howie D brings pop-star charisma, a lifelong performer's polish and firsthand stories from the world's biggest stages to audiences.
