Book DJ Zinc
DJ Zinc is a British DJ and producer whose career traces the evolution of London's dance underground from jungle to drum and bass, breakbeat, 2-step garage and house. Born Benjamin Pettit, he first made his name with "Super Sharp Shooter" in 1995, a hip-hop and jungle hybrid that became one of the pioneering drum and bass anthems. He started on radio in 1991 alongside DJ Swift on Impact FM, moved on to Eruption FM and later held a solo slot on Rinse FM. With his 1999 single "138 Trek," he was an early drum and bass name to cross over with a 2-step garage hit. Zinc was a core part of the Ganja Kru and True Playaz crews, often alongside DJ Hype, and ran the Bingo Beats label from 2002 to 2008, also releasing music as Jammin and Dope Skillz. His albums include Beats by Design, the tempo-climbing concept record Faster (2003), the Crackhouse series beginning in 2009, Friends and Fam (2020), BASSLOVE (2024) and BASSLOVE: MORE BASS MORE LOVE (2025). With three decades behind the decks, DJ Zinc delivers bass-heavy, crowd-moving sets steeped in dance music history.
