Book Daryl Hall & John Oates

Daryl Hall & John Oates are the Philadelphia duo that built one of pop's deepest catalogs of hits by blending rock with soul and rhythm and blues. Formed in 1970, the pair wrote most of their own material, with Hall usually singing lead and Oates adding guitar, harmonies and the occasional lead vocal. Early songs such as "She's Gone" (1973) and "Sara Smile" (1975) set up a remarkable run from the mid-1970s through the 1980s. Six singles reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100: "Rich Girl" (1977), "Kiss on My List" (1980), "Private Eyes" (1981), "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" (1981), "Maneater" (1982) and "Out of Touch" (1984). "You Make My Dreams" (1981) has since become a fixture of films, weddings and stadiums. Albums such as Abandoned Luncheonette (1973) and Big Bam Boom (1984) show their range from Philly soul to slick synth pop. In total they placed 29 singles in the US Top 40. The duo joined the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, and their songs remain instantly recognizable crowd favorites.
