Book Dan Baird
Dan Baird is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer famed as frontman and rhythm guitarist for 1980s rockers The Georgia Satellites, the band he formed in 1980 and left in 1990 to go solo. He is credited as a pioneer of cowpunk and alt-country, mixing rock, country, outlaw grit and punk attitude. His solo debut, Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired (1992), was produced by Brendan O'Brien with Rick Rubin as executive producer, and Rolling Stone praised its lean, hard-hitting rock and sly humor. The album's single "I Love You Period" reached number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "The One I Am" climbed to number 13 on Billboard's Album Rock Tracks chart. Later albums include Buffalo Nickel (1996) and SoLow (2017), and he holds a Grammy nomination. Since 2005 Baird has toured with his band Homemade Sin, which reunites him with former Satellites drummer Mauro Magellan and features guitarist Warner E. Hodges of Jason & the Scorchers. On stage he serves up rowdy, Chuck Berry-rooted boogie rock and roll with big riffs, wit and barroom swagger.
