Cheryl Strayed is an American writer and podcast host whose memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (2012) became an international bestseller and inspired the 2014 Academy Award-nominated film Wild. The book recounts her 1995 solo trek along the Pacific Crest Trail, and it turned her into a voice millions of readers trust on grief, resilience and finding your way. She is also the beloved advice columnist behind Dear Sugar, which she took over on The Rumpus in March 2010 and wrote anonymously until revealing herself as "Sugar" on Valentine's Day 2012; the columns became the collection Tiny Beautiful Things (2012). Her other books are the novel Torch (2006) and Brave Enough (2015).
