Book Bones UK
This Camden Town rock band is the duo of singer and rhythm guitarist Rosie Bones and lead guitarist Carmen Vandenberg, a fierce, riff-heavy act built on sharp hooks and unapologetic attitude. The two met at the Blues Kitchen in Camden and played together in the all-female band Fake Club from 2012 to 2014 before launching their own project. Guitar legend Jeff Beck quickly took notice, enlisting them to co-write his 2016 album Loud Hailer and to join him on tour. After a string of independent singles including "Fat," "Beautiful is Boring" and "Pretty Waste," they relocated to Los Angeles and released their self-titled debut album in 2019 on Sumerian Records, tackling beauty standards, toxic masculinity and sexism in music, and including a cover of David Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans." Loudwire named it one of the year's 50 best rock albums, and "Pretty Waste" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance. They followed with the Unplugged EP in 2020, contributed "Dirty Little Animals" to the animated series Arcane in 2021, and released their second album, Soft, in 2024. Live, the duo delivers loud, defiant, guitar-forward rock.
