Book Bette Smith

Bette Smith is a soul, rock and blues vocalist from America and songwriter of Trinidadian heritage, and an inductee of the New York Blues Hall of Fame since 2012. Known for a powerhouse voice that moves easily between gritty blues, Southern rock and classic soul, she has recorded for the Ruf Records blues label and later joined Kartel Music Group. Her second album, The Good, the Bad and the Bette (2020), was produced by Matt Patton of Drive-By Truckers and features guest turns from Luther Dickinson and Patterson Hood; critic Jim DeRogatis put it on his list of the year's top albums, and its track "Fistful of Dollars" topped the Roots Music Report in 2021. She has cut singles with guitarist Kirk Fletcher, including "Dance Monkey" and a take on the Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar," plus "Memories" with Jesse Johnson, and has recorded alongside Joe Louis Walker and Jimbo Mathus. Smith has toured the U.S. with Drive-By Truckers and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, headlined her own Bustin' Out of Brooklyn Tour, played the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival and the Kennedy Center, and works the blues festival circuit in North America and Europe.
