Book 65daysofstatic
65daysofstatic is a post-rock band from Sheffield, England, known for thunderous instrumental music that fuses guitars, live drums, glitchy electronics and drum and bass. Paul Wolinski and Joe Shrewsbury started the group in 2001, and once Rob Jones and Simon Wright came aboard in 2003 the band started out crafting remixes and mash-ups before developing its own cinematic, high-intensity style. Their debut album, The Fall of Math (2004), drew critical praise for its tension and explosive dynamics. The band followed with One Time for All Time (2005), The Destruction of Small Ideas (2007), We Were Exploding Anyway (2010), Wild Light (2013) and replicr, 2019 (2019), along with a new score for the science-fiction classic Silent Running. Their profile soared when it was announced at The Game Awards 2014 that they would create the soundtrack for the video game No Man's Sky, celebrated with a live performance, and the album No Man's Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe arrived in 2016. In 2017 they unveiled Decomposition Theory, a project built on algorithmic composition. Known for powerful, immersive concerts, 65daysofstatic offers audiences a bold mix of rock energy and electronic invention.
