Book Vanilla Ice
Vanilla Ice, born Robert Matthew Van Winkle in Dallas and raised in Miami, is a rapper, actor, singer and TV host behind an instantly recognizable hook. His 1990 hit "Ice Ice Baby" became the first hip-hop single to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut, Hooked (1990), was reworked for SBK Records as To the Extreme, which became the fastest-selling hip-hop album up to that time. In 1991 he won the American Music Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist along with People's Choice and Kids' Choice honors, and he earned a Grammy nomination. He performed "Ninja Rap" in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) and starred in Cool as Ice (1991). His later albums include Mind Blowin (1994), the nu metal Hard to Swallow (1998), Bi-Polar (2001) and W.T.F. (2011) on Psychopathic Records. On television he hosted The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY Network for nine seasons from 2010 to 2019 and launched The Vanilla Ice Home Show in 2022, and he appeared in The Ridiculous 6 (2015). His shows deliver pure early-'90s nostalgia and crowd-pleasing energy.
