Curran's 2006 work brought honors from BAFTA Scotland and the British Independent Film Awards, the year he appeared in Red Road. On television he was Datak Tarr on Syfy's Defiance and appeared in This Life, The Pillars of the Earth (2010), Roots (2016), Daredevil, Crazyhead, Secret Invasion (2023) and the BBC drama Mayflies. He now plays Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, in Outlander: Blood of My Blood (2025). Curran brings Scottish charm and range.
